It's amazing how quickly things change...

At our weekly twin playdate this morning I held twin boys who were almost five weeks old. As I looked at their squishy little faces while curled up in my arms, I couldn't even remember when Gray and Will were that small. Although it was great to hold a newborn again, I managed to steer clear of baby fever. Although it feels like an eternity since Gray & Will were that small, the memories of changing 20+ diapers a day and nursing for 10 hours a day are still very vivid!

Feeding Time at the Zoo!

A few days ago when I was eating lunch, the boys pulled themselves towards my feet and waited with their little mouths wide open hoping for a bite. Since it was easy and relatively clean way to feed the boys, Gray & Will now get to have a snack while sitting on the floor - mouths wide open in eager anticipation of the next bite. I wonder if this is what it feels like to be a Zookeeper?

Hello 2011!

Taking photos of the boys is so much fun. There are a lot of people who are more creative and better photographers than I am, but what matters is the memories the photos bring. Capturing a moment in time...and occasionally some potential blackmail for future use as well.

Here are Will & Gray looking out into the world...what will 2011 bring?

Welcome to the Huckleberry Patch

As I look back on the last 12 months...all I can say is that 2010 has been an amazing year. Over the past few days our Apple TV has been flipping through the photos we have taken this year, and all I can say is WOW! I started 2010 26 weeks pregnant with babies of unknown genders and I am starting 2011 with two happy & healthy 9 month old boys.

Having kids has made me realize how fast time flys. Although I don't really remember a life without kids, sometimes it feels like the boys were born yesterday. The last 9 months have been a whirlwind of adventure and things keep getting better. Two little people entered my life bringing fun, joy, exhaustion and most importantly unconditional love. As I reflect back on the last year, I often find myself wishing I had documented things with a bit more detail, but those early weeks/months were all about survival mode, so I plan to make up for it now.

My New Years Resolution is to keep up this blog as an online journal where I can document and reflect on the things in my life both in photos and the written word. My committment is to make 3 posts per week. Nothing fancy, just me talking about the world around me and the people who are part of it. Once I am back at work, I am sure things will be hectic, and having this blog will push me to take time to reflect on life, love & everything in between. I am looking forward to New Years Eve 2012 when I can look back at my posts with my 2 21 month olds!
